About the Students
The Compact for Success Program, an award-winning program, guarantees admission to San Diego State University for any student enrolled in the Sweetwater district from seventh through twelfth grades who maintains a 3.0 grade point average while meeting certain pre-determined academic benchmarks. The program gives these students a clear roadmap to college — step-by-step instructions on how to prepare for education beyond high school.
The Compact doesn't end when the Sweetwater students step onto SDSU's campus. Many qualified to be “Compact Scholars,” which entitles them to participate in programs and activities to support their academic and student involvement on campus.
What advise would you give to your peers to graduate in 4 years

Staying on track to graduate in four years can be difficult but manageable. The most important thing that has helped me to stay on track to graduate, is to remember what I love in life. For me, it has been watching theatre. When things get too hectic and stressful, I take a break from my school work and do what I love. This helps me refresh my mind, get back into the school mode with ease and helps me from burning out in the long run.

For students desiring to stay on track and graduate within four years, my advice to you would be to seek out all of the wonderful resources San Diego State University provides for its students. Examples of these resources are your professors, the library, academic advising, your major advisor, and your peers. Students are not alone during their career at SDSU and reaching out to some or all of these resources on a regular basis can significantly enhance your academic performance as an Aztec!

My suggestions for graduating in 4 years is to be persistent when crashing classes, take required classes at a community college when you can, stay in touch with your professors and advisors for their assistance and develop useful contacts and connections for your future career. Most of all, enjoy yourself and meet good people to share your college experiences with!
