How do I request AP scores be sent to SDSU for credit? And how will I know when the scores are recieved?
The Collegeboard will send the scores to SDSU and then the university will make the necessary adjustments to your transcript. This process takes some time. Ideally, you should check your unofficial transcript and/or do a degree audit at the end of the semester to see if the credit has been applied. You will not receive any notice.

How do I know which classes to register for?
The Office of Advising and Evaluation can help with all questions relating to your schedule and classes you need to take. The best time to see an advisor is before you have a problem. You can also review the checklist to determine what steps you need to take each year at SDSU. The Office of Advising and Evaluation is open Monday - Thursday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Phone: (619) 594-6668
First, discuss your academic performance with the undergraduate faculty adviser for your major. Then, make an appointment with the Assistant Dean of Students for the College of your major. You may be eligible for Course Forgiveness or the Bounce Back Program
What is course forgiveness? When should I use it?
You can repeat a course for course forgiveness if you earned a C- or lower grade and file for course forgiveness. While the original grade(s) will remain on the transcript, course forgiveness removes the old grade and replaces it with the new grade in your GPA. Learn more!
What happens if I’m put on Academic Probation?
Once on probation, you must maintain a term grade point average of 2.00. If you fall below a 2.00 in any term after going on probation, you will be disqualified. You are allowed to continue on probation (which means maintaining a GPA of at least 2.00 each semester) for a maximum of three semesters. Visit the Office of the Registrar website for more information
I have an I-hold or other hold. What happens?
Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccinations are required for all new students and transfers. Students needing to clear I-Holds can do so by faxing proof of immunization to (619) 594-7469 or bringing proof to SHS Information Booth. For more information please visit the SHS Immunizations website. There will be a hold on your registration until the immunizations are cleared.
I can’t register for the classes I need. All sections are full! What do I do???
- Note that departments are monitoring closed classes and will be adding sections or additional spaces in sections to meet demand.
- Keep checking!! This is always helpful, but will be particularly so during sophomore registration times.
- Contact that classes’ department and ask if they have any alternative courses which may fulfill the same requirement
Is it true that if I have 3 finals on the same day I can have them rescheduled?
To reschedule a final exam you need to contact the instructor of that exam.
What happens if I don’t pay my registration fees by the deadline?
You can not register until you pay your registration fees. There is a extra $20 late fee when paying past your deadline.
