How to receive financial assistance on your study abroad program:

Do not let the cost of study abroad discourage your attitude towards participating. There are several financial aid options which are available to assist students financially.

Financial Aid

Students are presently surprised to learn that they may use their state and federal financial aid on approved study abroad programs. In fact, over $280,000 in aid was distributed to study abroad students last year alone. For students participating in one of SDSU's own semester or year programs (including ISEP, CSU-IP, exchanges and departmental programs) in addition to their state and federal aid, students may also take departmental or university sponsored aid.

Scholarship Opportunities

You should take advantage of scholarship opportunities that might help defray costs for such things as airfare, insurance etc. Below is a link to some scholarships that might be useful as you pursue your program research. As with all scholarship programs, make sure to apply early and that you meet all eligibility requirements.

Program timing is a very important factor when considering a study abroad program. Because of this, there are international programs which vary in length and departure date.
