Types of Scholarships
This scholarship site provides information and links to many scholarships that are open to students on a national level. National merit scholarships support both undergraduate and graduate study. Scholarship programs focus on specific purposes such as academic research, fields of study, public service, international study, or financial need.
The majority of scholarships have an open application process and students submit their applications directly to the scholarship program, either on-line or hard copies. Many prestigious scholarships limit the number of applications and require that students be nominated by their home institution. For scholarships that require institutional nomination, letters of endorsement, or campus evaluation, SDSU students must participate in an on-campus selection process.
